Last Updated: August 14, 2019

Background Check

Memotenz is promoted as a unique formula containing only the most potent ingredients for helping increase concentration, short and long term memory, and overall brain performance. Its sell include being made and formulated by scientists in the United States, being a safe option with no negative side effects, and its production in a GMP-certified manufacturing facility that abides by the most rigorous FDA recommendations.

Memotenz New Formula is created on the premise of feeding the brain the basic nutrients it needs to retain its abilities to focus, stay alert, and energetic, solve problems, perform optimally. It promises to accomplish this through a roster of active ingredients namely ginkgo biloba, St. John’s wort, Bacopa monnieri, and more.

Supplement Facts

Key Ingredients

Here are the key ingredients and benefits of the active ingredients in Memotenz:

  • Ginkgo biloba– May help increase uptake of glucose (broken down sugar) by brain cells, it has the potential to improve the transmission of nerve signals responsible for memory, mood and task completion
  • John’s wort– Increases brain hormone synthesis by inhibiting hepatic tryptophan 2, 3 dioxygenase activity and its gene expression. It may prevent nerve cells in the brain from reabsorbing certain chemical messengers.
  • Bacopa monnieri– May be able to increase memory formation by the enzyme Tryptophan Hydroxylase (TPH2) and increasing the expression of the hormone transporter (SERT). It may be able to reduce the rate of short term forgetting.
  • Acetyl L-carnitine– Promotes nerve cells to alpha-secretase instead of beta-secretase. This results in less production of beta-amyloid plaque. Acetyl-l-Carnitine also preserves the level of BDNF5, which may help to repair as well as make new brain cells.
  • Phosphatidylserine Complex– An essential nutrient for healthy, optimally-functioning brain cells. By supporting brain cell membrane integrity, phosphatidylserine helps keep toxins, pathogens, and other unwanted invaders out of your brain. Phosphatidylserine increases brain cell fluidity, enabling cells to stay adaptable and effectively respond to stressors.
  • L-glutamine HCI– Boosts brain function by increasing glutamic acid and gamma-aminobutyric acid, two of the most important neurotransmitters in the brain. By increasing neurotransmission, the brain is able to complete important functions faster and more efficiently.

Effects and Benefits

Said to work almost immediately after it is taken, this nootropic is positioned to be a good fit for adults of all ages. People in their 20s and 30s, for instance, are said to benefit in areas of recall speed, focus, and acuracy, along with long term memory.

While ginkgo biloba, PS, and Bacopa monnieri are all excellent in the area of nootropics, there are not supplied in powerful-enough amounts in this formulation. Adding to the problem is the lack of decent nootropics to fortify the product. So what we’ve got is a major issue in extract quality as well as maximum variety in nootropic ingredients.

Potential Side Effects

Based on the limited reviews we found on the Web, Memotenz New Formula seem to be a friendly formula for most users, with very few or minor accounts of unwanted side effects. That’s a good plus to start with. But it should also be noted that while the manufacturer dresses up the product as a proprietary blend, there’s no transparency there. How can you anticipate side effects in something you don’t exactly know or isn’t visible to you? That’s a red flag in safety as far as we’re concerned.

Pricing Options

Memotenz retails for $79.98 for every bottle, but offers a “limited time offer” of only $39.99 each. That’s a competitive price, sure. But we’re puzzled as to why the company chose the cheap tactic of a major price slash like this, because as far as we’re concerned that reeks of marketing bogus that no one should fall for.

When we scoured retail sites, too, we didn’t find special discounted packages and deals with this product.

Online Reviews

Memotenz suffers from a severe drought in customer reviews and feedback. That tells us few things, including: (1) poor market presence and reach, (2) being a sales laggard, or (3) having awfully bad reviews that they’re buried in the deepest recesses of the internet.

Rating: 7.5/20

RECAP

Positives

  • Inclusion of tried-and-tested nootropics in the formula
  • No scam report on manufacturer in our online probe
  • Decent pricing

Negatives

  • Poor quality extracts or ingredient amounts in the formula
  • Extreme lack of available customer reviews
  • “Proprietary blend” claim covers true ingredient lineup and content

Our Verdict

Memotenz has the potential to win in the nootropic game: it has the potential, the raw materials that work in brain enhancement, and a modest yet decent manufacturing capability. But we don’t know what to make of this combination: it has poor ingredient extracts and disclosure, and it suffers very few to no online customer reviews. These make it seem like a total neophyte who’s clueless how the game is played.
