CILTEP is marketed as an all-natural nootropic supplement. It contains Forskolin and artichoke extract, which are claimed to be effective in supporting cognitive functions such as learning, concentration, retention, and mental endurance. In simpler terms, CILTEP attempts to help the brain remove distractions in order to allow individuals to focus and be more productive on the task at hand. The company that founded this formula is Natural Stack – an industry specialized in formulating supplements of the highest quality to increase the brain’s productivity and efficiency.
The product is claimed to be used by thousands of people on a daily basis, most of who consider it to be a healthy solution to increase focus, alertness, and motivation. While looking through the reviews available online, we found that most people support the product. However, there was the occasional product basher now and again who said they felt no effect whatsoever.
As mentioned previously, CILTEP is promoted as a healthy solution for optimal mental performance. The use of natural ingredients as opposed to chemically generated ones not only seem to intrigue many customers but also allows the supplement to work effectively with a lower side-effect risk. As the company seems to be confident with their product, they have done the right thing by disclosing information about their ingredients. A majority of supplement companies use a “propriety blend” in their formulas, which allows them to hide the dosage of each ingredient in the formula. This allows the company to fill the supplement blend with inferior substances such as caffeine, as opposed to including proportional amounts of the suggested ‘main’ ingredients. In this case, CILTEP doesn’t have a “propriety blend” and keeps their information available to the public.
One aspect of the product that makes us have our doubts, however, is that the manufacturer recommends us to use CILTEP with Smart Caffeine, which coincidentally is another Natural Stacks item. CILTEP reviews are generally positive, although the formula’s effectiveness is not backed up with scientific evidence.
CILTEP includes the following ingredients: Vitamin B6, Artichoke extract, Coleus Forskohlii (root) extract, L-Phenylalanine, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, vegetable capsule, cellulose, vegetable Stearate, and Silica. From our knowledge of nootropics, we can see that the natural stimulants stack very well in Ciltep.
Serving Size: 3 Capsules
Servings per Container: 20
Vitamin B-6 (Pyridoxal-5-phosphate) = 5mg
Artichoke (Cynara scolymus) (leaf) (5% total caffeolyquinic acids) = 900mg
Coleus Forskohlii (root) extract (standardized for 20% forskolin- 4mg) = 20mg
L-Phenylalanine = 500mg
Acetyl-L-Carnitine = 750mg
Acetyl L-Carnitine: The “enhanced” version of Carnitine that not only aids in fat burn, but also offers benefits to the brain due to its ability to cross the brain-blood barrier. It aids in the production of acetylcholine, which is a neurotransmitter responsible for improving memory, learning, problem-solving ability, and general cognition.
Artichoke Extract: Enhances alertness and improves memory retention by inhibiting PDE4 in the brain.
Coleus Forskohlii: Known to enhance memory formation.
Effects and Benefits
Historically, artichoke extract has been used as a food source to aid in weight loss diets as it possesses excellent cholesterol lowering properties. The most important aspect of artichoke extract, however, is that it contains Luteolin, which actively inhibits PDE4. By doing so, the brain is able to be more alert and retain memory more effectively. When mixed with Forskolin (Ciltep’s second main ingredient), the neural enzyme adenylyl cyclase is activated, thus enhancing memory formation and retention.
Potential Side Effects
Allergic reactions and bloating are the most common side effects caused by artichoke. Forskolin can also cause unwanted side effects, such as throat irritation, coughing, and restlessness (particularly when inhaled). The substance is also believed to increase the risk of bleeding and lower blood pressure. However, none of the testimonials and reviews have mentioned any of these effects to occur.
With 60 capsules in a standard bottle for $42.95, the pricing of Ciltep is quite high. According to some reviews, the bottle doesn’t even last an entire month as the recommended daily dose of 2-3 capsules would only provide around 15 days worth of intake. The product comes with a 30-day 100% money back guarantee. This, along with the availability of the terms and policies on the official site, increases the reliability and value of the product. Moreover, there is free shipping for U.S. orders while international orders are delivered for a moderately low shipping charge. Online purchases can be made directly by Natural Stack’s official site.
Here are examples of both positive and negative reviews that we’ve found:
“Really, really wanted it to work. After not feeling anything remotely close to what some reviewers here describe, I thoroughly read through the longevity thread for CILTEP non-responders, and added more exercise to my routine and some additional supplements that CILTEP could be requiring and I could’ve lacked.
I started with the recommended dose, 3 pills right upon waking, about 20-30 minutes before eating. I tried two pills in the morning and one at noon, tried lowering the dose to 1 and 2 pills, raising it to four. I tried downing it with water and downing it with milk. I tried them on an empty and full stomach, I cracked open the pills and mixed them into my breakfast yogurt.
I tried absolutely everything besides snorting these things, and I got absolutely nothing.
Now, I’m aware of the real-world effects of Nootropics. It’s not like I’m expecting an NZT experience here. I didn’t even get this pill for the cognitive or memory enhancements, there were just nice side effects. What I wanted from this pill was the “razor-sharp focus” that was advertised. Now my bottle is almost over, I’m 40 bucks poorer and have exactly as much trouble focusing as I did before.
Not saying it’s a placebo, that Natural Stacks are phonies (their Smart Caffeine is great), or that the reviewers here are lies/exaggerations/paid posts, but this just didn’t work for me. At all.”

“First day was fantastic, that night slept very poorly every time since it’s not nearly as pronounced, can get foggy, and sleep is unaffected (taken with 2-3 cups of black coffee every time, my normal)
I find 1 TBS of now’s mct oil + coffee to produce 90% – 100% of the benefits if used daily, without the cost. Actually since using the product a bit longer I have come to realize it really is effective once or twice every 2 weeks. It will not be effective every day or even every other day. But once in a while it’s a great antidepressant/motivator”

“No real effects noticed. A cup of coffee would do the same thing or more”

“I’ve been taking CILTEP from Natural Stacks for about 7-8 months (maybe longer). I usually only take it when I have a project or task that will take at least 4 hours of dedicated focus. This increases my cognitive clarity and helps me ‘zero in’ on what needs to get accomplished AND I have an intense desire to do so. I’ll take 2-3 capsules maybe 2-3 times per week as needed.
I also play a pretty intense home game of poker once a month. I will take CILTEP about an hour before the game and Smart Caffeine about an hour into the game. Our games go at least 5 hours, sometimes 7-8 hours into the early morning. I have total awareness with no sleepiness whatsoever during this time. I also have a hard time going to sleep afterwards so it’s not something I’d recommend doing too often.”

RECAP: Pro’s vs. Con’s
- Open Source
- Ingredients with high quality and purity
- No prevalent negative side-effects
- Regular capsule bottle won’t last a month
- Formula’s effectiveness as a whole isn’t scientifically supported
If perhaps our editors’ first and second rated supplements (Lumonol and Nitrovit) aren’t for you for whatever reason, then you couldn’t really go wrong with CILTEP as a serious option. This is definitely a reliable supplement that may hopefully provide you with productivity you’re looking for.
